Liberty Half Marathon
Liberty Half Marathon, September 20, 2015 The weather is always key for this race – we’ve had rain and puddles, humidity, heat…this year might be one of the best year’s in memory for the weather. More than 2000 runners competed in this race around Jersey City. Rose City entered two teams – the 40s men placed 9th and the 60s men placed 7th. Congratulations to all! USATF XC 5K
Belmar was quickly followed by the first cross-country race of the season on August 30 at Natirar. Natirar is a Somerset County park, and is a beautiful setting – when you don’t have to run up (and down) the hills! More than 330 runners turned out for another hot and humid August race. Belmar 5K
The Rose City Racing Team kicked off the second half of the season at the Belmar Chase 5K on August 22. We had a great turnout for this men’s team championship race. August at the shore – what would you expect for weather? Yes, it was pretty warm, but more than 1,100 runners took to the streets of Belmar for the race. We ran a loop through some neighborhoods, then finished on a loooong straightaway along the boardwalk and beach. I kept watching for the big American flag
