Nearly 250 runners came out to Deer Path Park on a drizzly Sunday morning for the annual XC 8K. Deer Path Park is a beautiful location for a XC race, until you realize that you have to run up that darn hill THREE times.. Well, each of the hills three times, but it’s the last short, steep one that will do you in. The course was in good shape after just a little bit of rain overnight Saturday into Sunday morning (I was lying awake hearing raindrops and cringing, picturing the potential mud). A small group of Rose City women took on the challenge of the Deer Path XC course. The 40s women placed 9th and the 60s women took 2nd! Congratulations to all our runners!
