The USATF-NJ racing season kicked off the last weekend in March with a trio of races. Brian Angle, Paul Williams, Julia Scales, Karl Fenske and Kathy Hale participated in the Garden State 10 at Colonial Park in Franklin Township (Somerset). It was a chilly, slightly windy morning, but we warmed up once we started moving. This was a new race, and the organizers had a good turnout for the 5K, the 10-mile and the half marathon challenge. Team championships kick off with the Indian Trails 20K on April 2. Yes, you read that right, the race is now a 20K; the organizers found another 5K of lovely roads and trails. After Indian Trails, our next team race is the Clinton Country Run on April 29.
