Our House 4-Mile.....Swim???

In the past, the Our House race was a 5-mile race with a LOT of hills (ok, I only ran it once, so my memory may be exaggerating the hills a bit). A few years ago, the race was modified to a 4-mile race and the course was modified so that it only has some rolling to moderate hills (I kept waiting for the nasty hills!). Unfortunately, race day dawned cool and rainy (sounds like most of May). Although the rain certainly put a damper on the pre and post race festivities around the green, it wasn’t so awful for running. More than 300 runners came out to practice their agility while avoiding the puddles. Rose City fielded three women’s teams: the open women placed 8th, the 40s women placed 8th

Racing updates

Thanks to those who came out for the Our House 4-mile on Saturday - report is below. Next up is the Ridgewood Run 10k on Memorial Day. I do not anticipate having any teams, unless everyone comes out of the woodwork in the next few minutes :) Michael, Lou and Dick were possibilities, but that is it. So, if you really want to run this, speak up now! Next up will be the Lager Run on 6/24. This Sunday night race is the open men's and women's championship. As an extra incentive, there is BEER after the race. Please let me know if you plan to run. Did I mention there was BEER for post-race recovery? Happy running, Kathy

April Races

The racing team kicked off the season in April with the Indian Trails 20K, followed up by the Clinton 15K later in the month. We welcomed new RC2 members and our Hill Runners of Hunterdon (HRH) compatriots to the team this year. May is a busy month, with three races on the calendar. Interested in running with the team? Email Kathy! If you can’t run with the team, come out to cheer us on at one of our upcoming races. Indian Trails 20K Approximately 228 runners tackled the hills at Indian Trails in April, including 4 Rose City Runners. Thanks to Lou, Michael, Himanshu (in his first RC2 race) and Karl for representing the team! Lou Grunfelder 1:45:29 Michael Lin 1:
