It was a beautiful day for a trek over the hills and through the woods! The Indian Trails race returned to the team schedule this year. Someone decided the course was so beautiful and the hills were SOOOO much fun that another 5K should be added to the course to make it a 20K (I guess it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke after all). A small group of RC2 runners ventured out to tackle this adventure, along with about 350 other runners. RC2 fielded a Men’s 60 Team, which placed 5th in the team competition.
Lou reports “It was a beautiful morning to run this 20K race in absolutely perfect weather. As expected, the course was very challenging with the many hills to navigate. The last uphill near the end of the race makes one question ones mental and physical fortitude but it was so gratifying to then cruise to the finish line. “ and Dick adds “ Hilly it is, but the big wide view of the Manhattan skyline on a sunny day before a long downhill finish is very cool.”
Thanks to our brave runners who tackled this tough course!
