The first team race of the season took us to Newark for the Cherry Blossom 10K on April 7. It was a beautiful day – starting out crisp and sunny, but warming up quickly. The cherry blossom status sign indicated that they were “budding”, but we managed to find a few that were in full bloom.
More than 1,200 runners and walkers finished the course, which is an out and back in Branch Brook Park. There are some rolling hills, but nothing horrible. Rose City entered one team, the 40s women, who placed 16th. Thanks to all our runners for a great first race of the season.
