What a difference a month makes in terms of our race schedule, our training opportunities and the weather. I should be reporting on our success at the Spring Classic 15k, but instead I’ll touch on some of the rescheduling that has occurred. All races in April have been cancelled or rescheduled; some May races are holding off making decisions while others have postponed or cancelled.
Our first two team championships (Spring Distance Classic and Cherry Blossom 10k) and our first coed team championship (Clinton) in March and April were all postponed; the Clinton Country Run was the only one to post a new date (5/30), and that is tentative. No news on the Superhero Half yet. Several larger races have postponed and/or cancelled, including the NYC Half a few weeks ago, the Boston Marathon, the Broad Street 10-Mile and the Spring Lake 5-mile. Stay tuned for news on the June schedule.
In the meantime, keep up your training to the extent you can. Try some new workouts. Take the time to look at the birds in the trees and the blooming flowers when you are out running, walking or hiking. And be well. I hope to see you all very soon!
